How To: Assign a Camera to a Device

Assigning a camera to a device (door, motion sensor, etc.) creates an Adjacent Camera relationship. This allows the camera to appear alongside the device in callouts and provides contextual video when reviewing access or alarm events.

Steps

  1. Navigate to a Layout and open the device callout (click the device overlay).
  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the callout toolbar.
  3. In the settings dialog, select the Adjacent Cameras tab.
  4. Search for and select the camera(s) to assign to this device.
  5. Save.

Alternative: Via Devices Section

  1. Go to Devices in the top navigation.
  2. Find and select the device.
  3. In the device detail, open the Adjacent Cameras settings (requires camera:assign permission).
  4. Add the desired cameras.
