How To: Bypass a Device
Bypassing a device temporarily disables alarm events for that device without fully disarming it. This is useful during maintenance or testing.
Arm / Disarm a Device
The Arm / Disarm button is available in supported device callouts (Camera, Door, Motion Sensor).
- Click the Arm button to enable alarm monitoring on the device.
- Click the Disarm button to disable alarm monitoring.
The button shows the current state and toggles it on click. Requires alarm:arm permission.
Bypass a Device
- Open the device callout from the Layout canvas.
- Ensure the device is armed (Arm/Disarm button shows “Disarm”).
- Click the Bypass Alarm button (requires
alarm:bypass).
- In the Arm Bypass dialog:
- Set the Duration for how long the bypass should last.
- Optionally check Suppress Events to prevent alarm events from being generated while bypassed.
- Confirm to apply.
The device will automatically return to armed state when the bypass duration expires.
