Integrations - Advantech ADAM
The ADAM agent integrates Advantech ADAM I/O modules - hardware units that expose digital input and output channels. ADAM channels are wired to devices in YachtAware (for example, a virtual door’s open/closed sense and its unlock relay) through Custom Devices.
How ADAM Connects
The ADAM agent communicates with ADAM modules over MQTT. The module publishes input states and receives output commands via an MQTT broker; the agent connects to that same broker.
Set these fields on the ADAM row in Settings → Modules & Devices:
| Field | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| MQTT Broker - Host | Address of the MQTT broker the ADAM units publish to. | mqtt.awarevue.io |
| MQTT Broker - Port | Broker port. | 1883 |
| MQTT Broker - Username | Broker account username. | - |
| MQTT Broker - Password | Broker account password. | - |
| MQTT Broker - Client ID | Client identifier for the agent’s broker connection. | adam-agent |
| MQTT Root Topic | Root topic the ADAM units publish under. Must match the root topic configured in the ADAM unit settings. | Advantech |
Inputs and Outputs
ADAM channels are identified by a prefix on the channel name:
| Channel type | Prefix | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Digital input (DI) | di |
State reading - e.g. a door contact, a sensor, a button |
| Digital output (DO) | do |
Commands - e.g. energising a relay to unlock a door or switch a device |
When wiring an ADAM module to a device in Custom Devices, map the device’s sensed state to a di input channel and the action you want the platform to drive to a do output channel. See IO Boards & Virtual Devices for the wiring model.
